Therefore my current idea of a setup would be: -35mm f1.4 for portrait and low light street photography. -18-55 as an all-rounder (landscape, street, travel) -50-230 for landscape and sports/wildlife (I very rarely shoot these so the XC works fine for me) -Maybe getting the Fujinon 10-24mm in the future to get those extra mm in landscape shooting.

An as yet non-existent compact (or f/2) 16-35 might replace my 16-55, but an 18-50 with no aperture ring and a backwards zoom ring will not. 18mm isn’t wide enough for an all-purpose zoom. It's exactly NOT the point. Not till you introduced it anyway. Lovely sounding lens though it be, it has nothing to do with the OP.

Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 Review for Fuji X Mount. jerred@jerredz.com. January 9, 2023. Blog / For Photographers / Fujifilm. 1 Comment. A while ago I ended up selling my Fuji 16-55 f/2.8 red-badge lens because while I thought it was a really good lens… it was also big and heavy and I had all the focal lengths covered in primes.

The 55-200mm ($699.00 at Amazon) measures 4.7 by 3 inches (HD), weighs about 1.3 pounds, and supports 62mm threaded filters. It does extend when zooming, nearly doubling in length at 200mm, but The Fujifilm XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR is a beast of a lens, offering incredible sharpness, tank-like build quality, gorgeous handling, and more – assuming you can get past the size, weight, and price. In this Fujifilm 16-55mm f/2.8 review, I’ll take you through the benefits and drawbacks of this lens. I have both the EOS R + RF 24-105 and the X-H1 + 16-55 mm f2.8. Overall the R with RF 24-105 is sharper from edge to edge throughout the zoom range and has more micro contrast then XF 16-55 red badge. p.1 #3 · p.1 #3 · Canon EOS R + RF 24-105 vs Fujifilm X-T2 + 16-55mm. Do you feel like the Canon EOS R kit is a significant upgrade to the Fuji

Tamron still makes unique lenses, including the 17-70mm f2.8 Di III-A VC RXD now available for Fujifilm X Mount. This is the first mid-range 4.1x zoom lens with a fast f/2.8 constant aperture for the APS-C format. Fujifilm’s red label XF16-55mmF2.8 R WR only has a 3.4x zoom range, while the 5x zoom range XF16-80mmF4 R OIS WR only has a

The 8-16 is fantastic for night photography if you plan to do a lot of ultra-wide nightscapes with the Fujifilm system. At f/2.8 there is very little coma in the corners, but there is a fair amount of distortion which accentuates the star trails that are not apparent in the center of the frame. Fujifilm 8-16mm f/2.8 20 sec, ISO 6400.
1. 18-135: >100 not so good, sharp in the middle across the range, sharpest at 18mm, borders not reasonable until f8. 2. 16-80: 24mm equiv., very sharp in the middle across the range, borders at the wide and telephoto soft until f5.6/f8, good contrast, weather sealed. 3. 18-55: actually not bad across the range, edges need to be f8 for sharp
Conclusion. The tiny Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary is the new holder of "best all-round standard zoom lens" for Sony E-Mount APS-C cameras. It offers a great balance of size, weight, image quality, features, performance and crucially price, and is our choice as the perfect upgrade for the ubiquitous 16-50mm PZ kit lens.
The fact that the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 takes a smaller filter than the XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4.0 should be a big clue. The Sigma is also using a shorter zoom range than any of the other alternatives. The Sigma only covers a 2.8X range whereas the Fuji 16-55mm f/2.8 covers a 3.4X range.

Primes – all is not well! Face painting - Spring Festival, Goldfields, Western Australia, 2018. Fuji X-T2, XF 16-55 @ 51mm, 2.8, ISO 1,000. Yes as we’ve discussed, primes offer a lighter package, faster aperture and are usually optically better than zooms – but they have their trade-offs was well.

The official designation of this lens is XF 16-55 mm f/2.8 R LM WR. Let me quickly go over these terms: XF: is the designation for the X-Series high end lenses. 16-55 mm: is the zoom range. f/2.8: is the widest aperture setting. This lens is continuous f/2.8 throughout the zoom range.
The XF 16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR is the equivalent of 24-84mm in 35mm terms, and features a constant f/2.8 aperture across its zoom range. Autofocus speed is a blazing 0.06 seconds, and the focusing Fujifilm's XF 16-55mm F2.8 is a weather-sealed zoom covering a 24-83mm equivalent range. With a fast F2.8 constant aperture, manual aperture control and a new Nano-GI coating to reduce flare, it's a high-end lens to be sure. Take a look at how it performs in the real world. See gallery
