Hi! I have a VW T5 2.5 TDI 2005 model. While driving up a hill I got a warning with low oil pressure, took it to a VW repairshop, and they diagnosed it with too much oil. 11 liters of oil. They had it over the weekend to see if there was any water in the oil or sludge, but they said it most likely was overfilled since it looked like just normal

I followed all your recommendations, even cranking the engine a second 2 cycles to triple check timing. 2009 TDI started immediately after reassembling. Test drove around the block, ran great. Drove 40 miles to a business meeting getting 45 mpg and engine would not start for 4 hours after stopping.

Rest a small flat head screwdriver on the flywheel to left of the main teeth. This will help feel for the timing mark.
