QD-QLED is essentially a combination of technologies that uses quantum dots in between LCD panel layers to replace the color filter in front of an LED backlight to emit very saturated primary colors. Quantum dots and QLED refer to the same technology. QLED is a marketing term that Samsung and TCL use in the branding of their quantum-dot TVs.
Just FYI TCL TVs generally do not have long lifespans. My 55 inch 4 series had its LEDs short this week and apparently it’s happened to hundreds of other people this year. It may just be the 4 series, but I’ll only be buying LG, Sony, or Samsung for TVs after my poor experience with TCL and 2 bad vizio TVs too.
